currently serves as the school boardâs lay pastor of the Mount Jezreel Christian School. Â Â She strongly believes education should not be limited to the pursuit of academic knowledge. Education is the physical, social, moral, and mental growth stimulated and developed through a personâs environment. Every child can learn and her goal is to ensure that students grow through real life experiences while striving to become college and career ready.

Deacon Claudette Giles
currently serves as a school board member of the Mount Jezreel Christian School. Her interests in education include effective classroom management, efficient administration and pupil centered learning. She has participated in numerous courses to support the whole child as well as to provide appropriate support and resources to educators.

- Progressed from Health and Physical Education teacher to Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and served as a Principal for 7 years. Â Upon her retirement she served as an adjunct professor at PGCC, a monitor for the After School Program in DCPS and a mentor for new teachers in PGCPS.

Sister Menia Pearson
serves as a member of the school board. Serves as the Administrator for the Mount Jezreel Christian School. She is committed to the school Mission and Vision and the school motto of âBuilding a Foundation for Academic and Spiritual Excellenceâ. One of her greatest joys is observing students when they first learn to read. Reading opens a whole new world to beginner readers.

Sister Barbara Cheek
Currently serves as the secretary for the Mount Jezreel Christian School Board. She has always been a strong advocate for children, teaching in the public school as well as the Mount Jezreel Sunday School for over thirty years. She believes all children deserve a stimulating, challenging and enjoyable education that will allow them to aim high and achieve their life goals. She sees education as the door opener to an exciting and rewarding career.

Sister Andrea Thomas
EXECUTIVE BIOGRAPHY (Brief)
Andrea Thomas currently serves as the Executive Vice President for the United Planning Organization (UPO), the Community Action Agency for Washington, DC where she oversees the Communications, Development, Technology, Advocacy and Volunteer Divisions. Â In her role as EVP, Ms. Thomas also guides the organizational strategic plan development and execution and manages several key agency initiatives. Ms. Thomas also serves as the liaison to UPO Inspire; an independent fundraising entity for UPO.
Ms. Thomasâ career began in the field of youth development where she worked locally, primarily with first generation college students, at the Consortium of Universities; DC Community Prevention Partnership; and the Institute for Higher Education Policy. Â Ms. Thomasâ commitment expanded her youth work to serve as a youth work best practices instructor for the Advancing Youth Development BESTÂ Practices and as one of three national trainers for Scholarship America.
Ms. Thomas received her Bachelorâs Degree in Psychology from the University of California at Davis and her Master of Education Policy, Planning and Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. Ms. Thomas is a volunteer for the National Center for Children and Families and currently serves on the Montgomery County Community Development Advisory Committee and is board member of the national organization â DiabetesSisters- based in North Carolina. Â Ms. Thomas formerly served on the board of and College and Career Connections in Washington, DC.
Sister Carolyn Alston
Trustee Carolyn Alston currently serves as the Church Administrator and the Assistant Lay Pastor of the MJCS Board. She strongly believes in preparing todayâs youth for tomorrowâs world. In a world of rapid change, young people need the right mix of skills to thrive. Skills like communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and flexibility have always been important for work and life. But they will be even more crucial for future generations. Young people everywhere need to develop a greater breadth of skills to evaluate and apply knowledge in ways that meet the new demands of our changing social and economic world.

Dr. Oliver C. Roberson
Dr. Roberson (Dr. Rob) is a 10-year veteran of the United States Navy. Â He holds a Bachelorâs Degree in Biology (Pre-med) and is a Cum Laude graduate of Life University College of Chiropractic, located in Atlanta, GA. Â He has been a practicing chiropractor in Washington, DC for 21 years. Â He is the owner and director of ACSTherapy, Inc, a chiropractic and rehabilitation clinic. Â He treats and specializes in numerous sports related injuries as well as Upper Cervical Specific conditions. Â For the past four years, he has co-treated (with dentists) numerous patients with Sleep Apnea, TMJ Disorders, Myofascial Pain, Headaches and Chronic Pain. Â He is also certified Ergonomist. Â Dr. Roberson is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, American Academy of Spine Physicians, Academy of Spinal Biomechanics and Rehabilitation and Sacral-Occipital Organization. Â He is an active member of the Mt. Jezreel Menâs Ministry and Christian School Board.
